Welcome to the Acme, the only place that serves all your photographic, electronics and digital needs in Guyana with unsurpassed skills and techniques to achieve Industry leading Quality.
Acme, founded in 1935, is a French word meaning “the highest point of achievement” which richly describes the ambition and drive of founder Ashraf Ali and what he envisioned the future of Acme to be.
Over the years Acme prided itself as being the leader in the photo industry and has recorded many “firsts”. First to show motion picture, the first to produce coloured photographs in the West Indies in 1957, the first to start scenic photography and the first to start photo engraving, a process used to make printing plates to reproduce photographs in black and white for the newspapers.
In June of 1994 Ashraf Ali passed away but the trend of being the “first” continued as his daughter Bebe Ramkissoon and grandson Paul Ramkissoon picked up his “mantle of success” when they took over Acme; taking the business beyond traditional film based photography by being the ‘first’ to introduce digital imaging.
Today Acme now offers such services as Photo Restoration and Manipulation, Wide Format Printing (on a variety of Medias), Wide Format Lamination (on various Mils of Laminates), Graphic Designs and many more complimentary services.
